Biography

Nguyễn T. K. Thanh is a Professor of Nanomaterials at University College London, leading research in the UCL Healthcare Biomagnetic Nanomaterials Laboratories. He received his BSc in Chemistry from Vietnam National University Hanoi in 1992, followed by a Master's degree from the University of Amsterdam in 1994. In 2001, he moved to the U.S. to advance his career in nanotechnology, culminating in the development of nanoparticle-based sensors for biological assays. His research has emphasized the intersection of nanotechnology and biomolecular science, leveraging interdisciplinary collaborations. He was appointed a Royal Society University Research Fellow in 2005. His academic journey has included significant positions at leading institutions and a promotion to Professor in 2013, where he continues to shape the future of biomedical applications of nanomaterials. He also serves as Editor-in-Chief for the Royal Society of Chemistry book series on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.
