Professor Dr. Tabea Horvath

Biography

Tabea Horvath is associated with the Institute of Social Ethics at the University of Zurich. She has made significant contributions to moral philosophy, particularly in the areas concerning the ethical implications of parenthood. In 2022, she was awarded the Semester Prize for her bachelor's thesis titled 'The Significance of Pregnancy for the Moral Justification of Parenthood', which critically assessed Anca Gheaus' work on the ethical dimensions of biological parenthood. Her academic journey includes a role as a Research Assistant at the Institute, as well as working as a Project Assistant at the Swiss Reformation Studies Institute. Tabea has also gained practical experience through her internship at the Center for Rehabilitation at the Children's Hospital in Zurich and has worked in supporting children with brain injuries. She has a background in Theology and has been active in various educational and health-related contexts, bringing a unique perspective to her research interests in ethics and social philosophy.
