Biography

Taco Brandsen is a Professor of Public Administration at Radboud University, focusing on the management of public services and the relationship between government and civil society organizations. He has contributed significantly to research on co-production and co-creation of public services, social inequality, social innovation, and citizen initiatives. Brandsen previously worked at the University of Twente and Tilburg University, where he has been involved in numerous studies for national and local governments, as well as the European Commission. He received the Van Poelje Prize for his doctoral dissertation in public policy administration in 2001. He leads the European accreditation organization for public administration programs (EAPAA) and is an experienced member of program review committees. Brandsen has held several leadership roles, including President of the EMES International Research Network for Social Enterprise and Vice-President of the International Society for Research in Public Management (IRSPM). He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the journal VOLUNTAS: International Journal of Voluntary and Nonprofit Organizations.
