Biography

Tadek Wojtych is a historian specializing in education and museum studies across Europe and North America. His research focuses on the analysis of history textbooks and their role in fostering or hindering reconciliation in contexts such as Canada, Germany, and Poland. He obtained his PhD from the University of Cambridge in 2023, where his thesis examined online museums related to migration. Prior to joining Western University, he was a Postdoctoral Associate at Newcastle University, involved in a collaborative project on museums and democracy spanning Britain and Germany. Wojtych actively engages with students on topics of public history, decolonization, and modern European-Canadian history, aiming to enrich understanding of these critical issues. His scholarly output includes monographs, edited volumes, and peer-reviewed articles—many of which are under review or in preparation. His contributions to the academic community also encompass presentations at notable conferences, addressing themes such as the interaction between memory studies and online museums. In recognition of his work, he has been awarded the 2022 Postgraduate Article Prize by the British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies.
