Dr. Tae Kim

Biography

Tae Youn Kim is a Professor at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at the University of California, Davis, where he teaches and conducts research in the area of health informatics. With over 20 years of experience in academia and clinical nursing, Kim applies his expertise in informatics to improve health care delivery through technology and advanced analytical methods. His research focuses on the impact of interventions provided by nurses to coordinate care for chronically ill older adults living at home, addressing vital issues such as health-care quality and resource utilization. Notably, Kim's work includes developing standardized nursing terminologies to promote coherent communication in patient care. He has collaborated with national and international researchers on terminology development and has contributed to the International Council of Nurses' eHealth Programme. Prior to joining UC Davis, Kim served as an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee College of Nursing and has received multiple awards for his contributions to nursing informatics. He earned his doctorate in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and completed postdoctoral training in health informatics at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
