Biography

Tae Hong Park is a composer, music technologist, and bassist whose work focuses on electro-acoustic music composition and the application of machine learning in music and sound. He specializes in cyber-physical sound sensor networks and soundscapes. His main research project, Citygram, aims to create a sound map of the world through data-driven, community-driven, and art-driven efforts. Dr. Park has presented his work at various national and international conferences and venues, including Bourges, ICMC, MATA, SCIMF, SEAMUS, and Carnegie Hall. His compositions have been performed by ensembles such as the Ahn Trio, Brentano String Quartet, California E.A.R. Unit, and others. His work has received funding from organizations including Google, IBM, NSF, Korea Foundation, and UNESCO, and he is currently the Associate Professor and Chair of the Music Department at Purdue University.
