Dr. Tahir Syed

Biography

Tahir Abbas Syed is a Senior Lecturer in Management Science at Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. He holds a Ph.D. in Management from the University of Sussex, UK. His academic background includes a degree in Mechanical Engineering from College E&ME NUST University, Pakistan, and an MSc in Engineering Management from Politecnico di Torino University, Italy. Tahir is the coordinator of the Digital Transformation Research Group and acts as a program committee member for the British Academy of Management, alongside his involvement in various e-business and e-government special interest groups. His research interests encompass business value information systems, supply chain disruptions, and strategies for organizational response and recovery. He has published in several prominent journals such as the European Journal of Information Systems and the Journal of Supply Chain Management. Additionally, he has successfully secured grants totaling £50,500 aimed at understanding performance implications of Big Data Analytics and addressing digital vulnerabilities in business models. Currently, he serves as the program director for the MSc Operations, Projects, and Supply Chain Management program, which is highly ranked in the UK and globally.
