Dr. Tahsin Reza

Biography

Tahsin Reza is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo. Before joining Waterloo, he was a member of the research staff at the Center for Applied Scientific Computing at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California. His research interests lie broadly in the area of parallel distributed software systems, focusing on developing systems and techniques at the application middleware levels to address contemporary and emerging data-intensive challenges that require scalable and timely solutions. His work aims to build performant and sustainable systems by leveraging cutting-edge distributed platforms, hardware accelerators, and distributed communication and memory technologies. Dr. Reza's research has been published in prestigious computer science journals, including ACM Transactions on Computing, IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, and Elsevier Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing, and has been showcased at competitive venues such as ACM SIGMOD, IEEE/ACM Supercomputing, and IEEE Big Data.
