Biography

Tai-Chang Chen is a faculty member in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Washington, where he has taught more than 14 undergraduate and graduate courses. He has been involved in developing new curricula and has worked to create a format for lecture-based online courses. He has implemented PC-USB interface laboratory instruments that allow students to benefit from hands-on laboratory experiences in an online learning environment. Previously, Chen worked as a lab manager at the Electrical Engineering Microfabrication Lab, overseeing the III-V nitride semiconductor MOCVD laboratory. His research interests focus on the development of micro/nano-technology and its interdisciplinary engineering and scientific applications in materials science, thin films, and sensor systems, including wearable sensors.
