Biography

Lee Siang started his career as an urban designer with the Urban Redevelopment Authority in 1990 and joined DP Architects in 1992, becoming a partner in 2000. From 2011 to 2016, he served as Group Managing Director of Ong&Ong Group, a multi-discipline design firm. In 2018, the Building & Construction Authority invited Lee Siang to assume the position of Executive Director for BuildSG, where he spearheaded industry engagement. In 2021, he was appointed Head of Pillar for Architecture Sustainable Design (ASD) at Singapore University of Technology and Design, a role he will hold until 31 December 2024. Lee Siang is passionate about voluntary work with NGOs, having been elected president of three trade associations and chairman of one global NGO from 2007 to 2018. He has held prominent positions including President of the Singapore Institute of Architects from 2007 to 2009, President of the Singapore Green Building Council from 2011 to 2013, and President of Design Business Chamber Singapore from 2012 to 2016. He was Chairman of the World Green Building Council from 2016 to 2018, where he initiated the Advancing Net Zero movement, resulting in increased adoption of Net Zero Buildings worldwide.
