Biography

Takahiro Endo joined the University of Victoria as an associate professor at the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business in September 2021, holding the Jarislowsky CAPI Chair in East Asia (Japan). Previously, he served as an associate professor at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo and Kobe University, where he completed a two-year postdoctoral research position at Cardiff University. He obtained his PhD from Cardiff University in Wales, UK, and holds both an MA and BA from Hitotsubashi University. Endo has engaged in research fellowships at Kobe University's RIEB (Research Institute for Economics and Business Administration) and is a governing board member at King's College London's FinWork Future Research Centre. His scholarly interests encompass the translation and sustainability of ideas in business management, the legal structures of business organizations, and the impacts of commensuration processes on innovation and tradition. He has been the principal investigator for several JSPS (Japanese Society for Promoting Science) funded projects that examine corporate lobbying impacts in traditional and new economic sectors, as well as inter-disciplinary projects that investigate translation in renewable energy and gender issues in professional service firms.
