Biography

Takaki Komiyama is a Professor in the Department of Neurosciences at the University of California, San Diego. His research focuses on learning-related synaptic plasticity, using techniques such as correlated light ultrastructural imaging and CRISPR-based mosaic analysis to investigate the network basis of decision-making circuits. Over the years, he has held multiple NIH grants, contributing to the understanding of context-dependent plasticity in adult-born neurons and the cortical control of motor learning. His notable research includes studies on experience-driven plasticity in visual circuits and olfactory bulb activity in awake mice.
