Biography

Dr. Takako Tanaka is a Professor in the Clinical Oral Medicine Program and the Director of the Postdoctoral Oral Medicine Program at the University of Pennsylvania. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Michigan. Dr. Tanaka completed her residency fellowship in Oral Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Health System in 2006 and is board-certified by the American Board of Oral Medicine as well as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Her clinical expertise encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of oral mucosal diseases, oral cancer, and orofacial pain disorders. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Tanaka engages in didactic teaching within the field of Oral Medicine and provides consultation services. She is also active in delivering continuing education lectures at dental societies both nationally and internationally. Dr. Tanaka is currently accepting new patients at the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine in Philadelphia and the Penn Medicine Radnor location.
