Biography

Takeshi Yamada is a Professor in Finance whose research spans asset pricing and corporate finance, with a particular interest in Asian financial markets and institutions. He has explored the role of individual and institutional foreign investors in the Japanese stock market as well as how employees of banks affect corporate behavior in Japan. His work has studied the roles played by the government in the Japanese and Chinese private corporate sectors, government ownership, personnel exchange, and government subsidies. His research has been funded by schemes run by the Ministry of Education in Singapore and the Research Grants Committee in Hong Kong, and has been published in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Review of Corporate Finance Studies, Journal of Financial Quantitative Analysis, and Journal of Business. Takeshi has also served as an elected board member of the Asian Finance Association and as an Associate Editor for Asian-based journals, including the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal and the Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies.
