Biography

Takudzwa Shumba is a family medicine clinician-educator with a profound commitment to global health equity and preventative medicine. Raised in Zimbabwe, he completed his Master's in Public Health at Yale with a focus on global health before entering medical school at Stanford University. Dr. Shumba has engaged in various public health projects across Zimbabwe, Hong Kong, mainland China, and Kenya. After completing his residency in Family Medicine at Stanford Health Care - O'Connor Hospital, he joined the Stanford Family Medicine faculty. He currently holds multiple leadership roles, including Co-director of the Leadership Education Advancing Diversity (LEAD) program and Course Director for the undergraduate seminar on 'Decolonizing Global Health.' Dr. Shumba has been recognized as a California Health Care Foundation Fellow and a Presidential Leadership Scholar. His extensive focus on Family Medicine allows him to provide continuous care while addressing acute patient needs effectively. He is also committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the field.
