Tal Malkin is a Professor in the Computer Science Department at Columbia University and directs the Cryptography Lab. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2000. Following this, he worked as a research scientist in the Secure Systems Research Department at AT&T Labs–Research. His research interests include cryptography, security, and complexity theory, along with related areas. Malkin has served on many program and steering committees for international conferences in cryptography and theoretical computer science. He has chaired the CT-RSA conference and is a member of the editorial board for the Theory of Computing Journal. He is the recipient of the NSF CAREER award, IBM Faculty Partnership Award, Google Faculty Research Award, and a research fellowship from the Columbia University Diversity Initiative. His research is funded by various organizations including NSF, NSA, NYSIA, DHS, IARPA, as well as corporate gifts from Google, IBM, Mitsubishi, and NEC.
