Biography

Talin Bchakjian, PharmD, BCACP is a residency-trained, board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist serving as an Assistant Professor in Clinical Pharmacy at the USC Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. He holds a joint appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Family Medicine Physician Assistant Program at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Dr. Bchakjian earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from USC Mann School of Pharmacy and a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Anthropology with a minor in Communications from the University of California, San Diego. He completed PGY-1 and PGY-2 residencies in Ambulatory Care at USC and has served as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor in Pharmacy Practice, earning dual teaching certificates. Following his residency, Dr. Bchakjian joined the Los Angeles General Medical Center, providing comprehensive, collaborative disease state management in primary care settings. His clinical expertise focuses on the management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia. Dr. Bchakjian's professional interests include expanding access to primary care pharmacist-led services, mentoring pharmacy learners, and advancing chronic disease management in underserved communities. He is actively involved in scholarship, has presented at national meetings, and co-authored research on diabetes management and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on continuity of care. In his current faculty role, Dr. Bchakjian contributes to the pharmacy physician assistant curricula, delivering pharmacotherapy lectures and facilitating case-based learning. He maintains a robust clinical practice at the Los Angeles General Medical Center, actively precepting pharmacy students. Dr. Bchakjian currently serves as Vice President of the Phi Delta Chi Alumni Association Board of Directors at USC.
