Dr. Talya Porat

Biography

Talya Porat is an Associate Professor of Human Factors Engineering at Imperial College London. Her research focuses on human factors, human-computer interaction, usability, and cognitive engineering. She is particularly interested in decision-making processes in the design and evaluation of effective interactive healthcare interventions aimed at improving patient outcomes and reducing medical errors. Dr. Porat also serves as a visiting lecturer in the Department of Population Health Sciences at King’s College London. Current research themes include improving diagnosis and management in primary care, enhancing health management for stroke survivors, and utilizing data visualization to improve decision making. Additional projects focus on improving blood pressure control in low- and middle-income countries and public health communication regarding misinformation. Dr. Porat is dedicated to behavioral change strategies that reduce environmental impact in operating rooms and is actively seeking excellent prospective PhD students interested in human factors in healthcare to join her research group.
