Tamar Sharon studies the ethical and social implications of new technologies, particularly in the field of health and medicine. She is a member of the European Group on Ethics (EGE), advising the President of the European Commission on questions related to science and new technologies, and also a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW). As a recipient of numerous grants and awards, she currently leads the Ammodo team, which received a science award. Tamar frequently appears in Dutch and international media to discuss issues related to digitalization.
