Dr. Tami Martino

Biography

Tami Martino is a Professor and Distinguished Chair in Molecular Cardiovascular Research at the University of Guelph, recognized for her expertise in cardiovascular health. With a PhD from the University of Toronto, she has made significant contributions to the field through her directorship of the Centre for Cardiovascular Investigations and her role as a Career Investigator for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Her research primarily focuses on the development of new treatments for heart disease, employing circadian physiological and pharmacological approaches to enhance recovery from myocardial infarction, manage hypertension and cardiac hypertrophy, and improve heart failure outcomes.
