Biography

Tania Bergen is a nurse with 25 years of clinical practice, particularly in critical care. She has been teaching at the University of Saskatchewan's College of Nursing since 2006, focusing on mentoring and coordinating clinical environments as well as lecturing in medical-surgical courses. Initially, her scholarly work centered on the quality of life for ICU survivors, while she also served as a clinical nurse specialist. Tania has discovered that nursing education provides the greatest opportunity to influence and build capacity within the nursing profession. She aims to be a positive and optimistic leader, committed to teaching students and mentoring new instructors in practice. Tania's overall goal is to create a supportive environment, referred to as a 'Brave Space', which encourages nursing students to achieve their full potential.
