Biography

Tanis Dingle is a clinical microbiologist with a primary appointment as Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary. She also serves as an Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology at the University of Alberta's Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. Dr. Dingle completed her Ph.D. at the University of Calgary in the Department of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases and underwent clinical microbiology training at the University of Washington in Seattle. She is a certified diplomate of the American Board of Medical Microbiology and a Fellow of the Canadian College of Microbiologists. Her research interests focus on mycology, particularly novel strategies for assessing antimicrobial activity, detecting antimicrobial resistance, and developing diagnostic methods that enhance understanding of the epidemiology and prognosis of patients with invasive fungal infections. Her dedication to advancing clinical microbiology includes improving antimicrobial susceptibility testing related to fungal infections.
