Biography

Tanja Domej is a full professor of Civil Procedure Law, Private Law, International Private Law, and Comparative Law at the University of Zurich. She studied law at the University of Vienna, where she received her doctorate in law in 2005. Her dissertation focused on administrative procedure parties. Since 2003, she has been part of the University of Zurich, initially as an assistant to Professor Paul Oberhammer and later as a senior assistant. In 2011, she completed her habilitation on international enforcement law. Before her appointment to her position in Zurich in the autumn semester of 2011, she served as a representative professor at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and as a guest lecturer at Uppsala University during the 2010/2011 academic year. Her research interests include Swiss, Austrian, and German civil procedure law, international and European civil procedure law, collective legal protection and mass proceedings, human rights lawsuits before civil courts, as well as territoriality, sovereignty, and individual rights.
