Biography

Tanya Ali is an Associate Professor of Medicine and a Clinician Educator at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She received her medical education from Dhaka Medical College in Bangladesh and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Roger Williams Medical Center. Following her residency, she pursued a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Roger Williams Medical Center and Massachusetts General Hospital, affiliated with Harvard University, finishing her research fellowship in 2004. Since July 2005, Dr. Ali has been a part of the Department of Medicine at Providence VA Medical Center. Her research and teaching interests focus primarily on Medical Education. Throughout her academic career, she has received numerous teaching awards, including the Dean's Teaching Recognition Award in 2008 and the Dean's Excellence in Teaching Award in 2014 and 2016. She is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the American College of Physicians and the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
