Biography

Tanzeem Choudhury is a Professor of Integrated Health Technology at Cornell Tech, Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science, and Jacobs Technion-Cornell Institute. He directs the Health Tech Hub at Jacobs Technion-Cornell Institute and leads the People-Aware Computing group, focusing on the development of wearables and multi-modal AI systems that measure and intervene in health behaviors and symptoms. His research includes creating novel on-body actuators and clinical decision support tools to assist individuals and clinicians in making health decisions, both mental and physical. Choudhury co-founded the mental health AI companies HealthRhythms and Dapple, dedicated to integrating behavioral health components into healthcare. He received his PhD from the Media Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where part of his doctoral work involved the development of the sociometer and conducting experiments with mobile sensors to model social networks, establishing a new field referred to as Reality Mining. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rochester and a Master of Science from the MIT Media Laboratory. Choudhury has received several notable awards including the NSF CAREER Award, TR35 recognition, TED Fellowship, and various fellowships that highlight his contributions to the field.
