Dr. Tao Zheng

Biography

Tao Zheng, MD, is a Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, and also serves as the Director of the Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. With over 30 years of experience in academic hospitals, Dr. Zheng has worked at prestigious institutions such as Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Yale University School of Medicine. He is a practicing allergist and immunologist at Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children's Hospital. His research is focused on understanding the molecular immunological basis of disease progression related to asthma, allergy, and atopic dermatitis. Dr. Zheng's work as a physician-investigator integrates clinical and laboratory research, striving to find effective interventions for pediatric asthma and food allergies. He holds fellowships in the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and the American Association of Immunologists. His contributions to the field include numerous funded research projects through NIH, evaluating asthma care effectiveness and studying childhood asthma innovation. He is involved in various medical education programs, teaching students and professionals about allergy and immune disorders.
