Biography

Tarek Beji is a professor at Ghent University specializing in Fire Dynamics. He obtained his PhD from Ulster University in 2009, where he focused on the theoretical and experimental investigation of soot radiation in fires. Following his PhD, he conducted postdoctoral research at Ghent University from 2011 to 2019, receiving a 3-year FWO postdoctoral fellowship for his work on water spray modeling and fire-driven flows. He is an editorial board member for the Fire Safety Journal and has received several awards for his contributions to fire safety research.
