Biography

Tarek Dika specializes in phenomenology, particularly focusing on Heidegger and contemporary French phenomenology. He also studies early modern philosophy and science, with a special emphasis on Descartes. Dika completed a book on Descartes' method and is currently writing a book on Heidegger's possibility of ontology. From 2016 to 2021, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Program in Liberal Studies and was a Faculty Member in the Program in History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Notre Dame. Additionally, he was a Fellow at the Medieval Institute and has held a Concurrent Assistant Professorship in the Department of Philosophy. Between 2013 and 2016, Dika worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Michigan Society Fellows program. He currently serves on the editorial committee of the Revue de Métaphysique et de Morale.
