Tassos Papacostas is a Reader in Byzantine Medieval Culture at King's College London. He is a qualified architect with a DPLG from Paris and has an MA in Late Antique and Byzantine Studies from King's College London. He completed his MPhil at the University of Oxford, where he also earned his doctorate, focused on the archaeology of Byzantine Cyprus, in 2000. His research interests encompass archaeology, architecture, and economic history of Byzantium and the Levant during late antiquity and the late medieval period. Specifically, he explores historiography of Byzantine Crusader art, the impact of Venetian architecture in the Eastern Mediterranean, and urban development in Byzantine Cyprus. He invites PhD applications related to these research interests. Furthermore, he serves as the convenor for the Centre for Hellenic Studies seminar on Late Antique and Byzantine studies.
