Tatiana joined ANU’s Centre for Classical Studies as a Lecturer in Classics in 2023. Previously, she was the Moses Mary Finley Research Fellow at Darwin College, University of Cambridge. Tatiana graduated from the University of Sydney where she completed her undergraduate studies and MPhil. She undertook her PhD at Trinity College, University of Cambridge and was awarded the Hare Prize in Classics. Tatiana's research focuses on ancient Greek cultural history with particular interests in ancient technology, entertainment, and religion. She founded Fulcrum, Australasia's network for pre-modern science and technology, in 2025. Her monograph, 'Technologies of the Marvellous: Ancient Greek Religion,' examines the interplay of mechanics and religion in the ancient Greek world. Tatiana has edited a volume gathering international scholars on technological animation in classical antiquity and is currently the Chief Investigator for an ARC-funded Discovery Project on 'Night Vision in the Late Ancient Mediterranean.' She has received the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Teaching Excellence and is passionate about ancient Greece and Rome as well as languages and cultures. Tatiana has contributed to various podcasts and lecture series, bringing her insights on ancient studies to broader audiences.
