Biography

Tatiana Londoño is an Assistant Professor at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs. A first-generation Latina born in Colombia and raised in Miami, Florida, she holds a B.A. in Neuroscience and Behavior from Vassar College, as well as an MSSW and PhD in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. Londoño's scholarship focuses on the mental health and psychosocial well-being of Latine/x immigrant youth and families, with an emphasis on understanding how experiences of migration impact their mental health and adaptation processes. Her work utilizes a mixed-methods approach to explore various aspects such as migration trauma, parent-child relationships, and the environmental contexts that influence well-being during resettlement in the United States. Londoño has published research in prominent journals and has also been involved in NIH-funded studies assessing the well-being of Latine/x youth and families affected by immigration. Beyond her academic roles, she actively engages with immigrant communities and works to support undocumented students through needs assessment and evaluation research. She has also developed trainings for service providers to better support Latine/x immigrant populations. Professor Londoño teaches courses on Human Behavior and the Social Environment at UCLA.
