Dr. Tatyana Deryugina

Biography

Tatyana Deryugina is an Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she has been a faculty member since 2012. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, obtained in 2012, and a B.A. and B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Environmental Economics & Policy, respectively, from the University of California at Berkeley, both completed in 2006. Her research interests lie in Public Finance, Environmental Economics, and Behavioral Economics. She has served as a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and as a Faculty Affiliate in various projects related to economic research. Dr. Deryugina has published several notable works addressing economic impacts stemming from natural disasters and policy responses to environmental challenges. Her ongoing research focuses on understanding the effects of temperature and pollution on health outcomes, particularly among the elderly. She also has an active role in editorial positions, contributing to significant economic journals.
