Dr. Taufik Yunanto

Biography

Taufik Akbar Rizqi Yunanto is a PhD student in Clinical-Health Psychology at the University of Copenhagen. His primary goal is to develop a model that strengthens peer support groups as agents for the prevention of HIV in Indonesia and Denmark. His work focuses on controlling the spread of HIV while improving the quality of life for people living with HIV and preventing discrimination under the Danish government's HIV Action Plan. During his project, Taufik aims to assess the relationship between health, mental health literacy, HIV stigma, quality of life, and risk behavior. He employs a mixed-methods approach to understand the bodily awareness and perceptions of people living with HIV regarding the spread of HIV and sexual relations. Additionally, he uses findings from his studies to understand the cognitive processes and behavioral patterns of HIV transmission among companions against the backdrop of negative stigma surrounding HIV. His research interests encompass various areas including Quality of Life, People Living with HIV, Cross-Cultural Psychology, HIV Prevention, High-Risk Sexual Behavior, Cognitive Processes, Health Mental Health Literacy, and Positive Psychology.
