Biography

Tavis Campbell is a Professor in the Department of Oncology at the University of Calgary. He holds a B.S. in Psychology from Concordia University and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from McGill University, followed by a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Duke University Medical Centre. His research interests focus on identifying and understanding the bio-behavioral mechanisms involved in the development, progression, and management of chronic diseases such as hypertension, cancer, and insomnia. He has held leadership roles in national organizations, including Chair of Care Delivery at Hypertension Canada and Chair of the Health Section of the Canadian Psychological Association. Additionally, he serves as a consultant for Indigenous Services Canada and the Calgary Emergency Management Agency on public communications. Dr. Campbell is actively involved in training healthcare professionals to motivate health behavior change and improve patient-provider communication.
