Dr. Ted Becker

Biography

Ted Becker is a Clinical Professor of Law and the Director of the Legal Practice Program at the University of Michigan Law School. Joining the faculty in 2000, he has a rich background in legal practice, including substantial experience in telecommunications arbitrations and general corporate litigation. Becker previously practiced with Dickinson Wright in Lansing, Michigan, and also held the position of an adjunct professor at Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he taught courses on litigation skills. He is recognized for his contributions to legal writing, having published numerous articles in prestigious journals such as the Michigan Bar Journal and Duquesne Law Review. Becker has been actively involved in organizing legal writing conferences and has received the Outstanding Service Award from the Association of Legal Writing Directors in 2018. His interests lie primarily in legal writing and education, making significant contributions to the field through both practice and academia.
