Dr. Tee Chwee Ming

Biography

Tee Chwee Ming obtained his PhD from Monash University and holds a Master of Science in Banking and Finance from Loughborough University, as well as a Master of International Business from the University of Sydney. He also earned a Bachelor of Economics with Honours from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Since 2002, he has been teaching banking and finance units at various Malaysian universities at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. With over 5 years of experience in investment trading across equities, forex, and derivatives markets including KLSE, NYSE, NASDAQ, ASX, and HKSE, he has actively engaged in trading gold bullion and cryptocurrencies since 2014. His research interests span crucial topics such as crony capitalism, political patronage, and sustainable finance, with numerous published academic papers in these fields. He has also served as a co-principal investigator on research funded by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education and has received several awards for his academic contributions, including the Sanggar Sanjung Award for Best Publication in 2022 and a dissertation award from Monash University in 2012. Tee is involved in continuous professional education as a consultant and trainer for the financial services sector in Malaysia, focusing on junior officers and senior managerial executives. His expertise aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and he continues to contribute significantly to the academic community through teaching, research, and professional development activities.
