Biography

Tequila A. L. Harris is a Professor at the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She received her Ph.D. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2006, after completing her M.S. there in 2003 and a B.S. from Lane College in 2000. Professor Harris's research primarily focuses on Manufacturing, Fluid Mechanics, and Polymer processing. Her innovative research includes exploring connectivity and functionality in nano to macro-level films and systems as well as investigating the performance and durability of manufactured components. She has developed systematic design and manufacturing methodologies for complex energy systems, encompassing material characterization, tooling design, computational modeling, and experimental analysis. Current projects investigate fluid transport phenomena, materials processing, and related design issues within energy, electronics, and environmental systems. Professor Harris has made significant contributions to the understanding of thin film manufacturing techniques and polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) designs, addressing challenges in performance and cost.
