Biography

Terence Chia began his academic journey at the University of Western Australia (UWA) as an international student in 2007. He completed his Master of Psychology with distinction in 2013 and later worked as an external consultant in not-for-profit and state government organizations. His contributions included assessing workplace culture, investigating workplace grievances, and facilitating leadership development. In 2015, he returned to the UWA Human Resources (HR) Organisational Development team, where he facilitated workshops for staff members. Terence is a registered psychologist with specialties in organisational psychology, focusing on topics such as organisational development, change management, workplace communication, public speaking, and wellbeing. In 2021, he completed his PhD and took on roles as a Research Associate and Sessional Tutor. His research interests include inclusive leadership and psychologically safe communication, aiming to explore the impacts of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
