Professor Dr. Terence Mitchell

Biography

Terence Mitchell is a Professor Emeritus at the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington, where he has worked since 1969. He holds a PhD in Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he also obtained his MA degree. His academic journey includes his BA from Duke University and GDPA from the University of Exeter. Prof. Mitchell is recognized for his expertise in decision making and leadership, evidenced by multiple visiting scholar positions across prestigious institutions including the University of Iowa and the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. He has played significant roles in academic service through various committees including being the Director of the Doctoral Program at his institution. Mitchell has received numerous honors, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Academy of Management and the Distinguished Scientific Contributions Award from the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. His research interests encompass development validation, organizational attachment, and motivation interventions in workplace settings, contributing significantly to the fields of organizational behavior and management.
