Biography

Teri Silvers is a Lecturer at Columbia Law School, where she has been teaching the Arts Law Externship since 2002. Prior to this role, she was the Assistant Director of Studies for the Law School's Kernochan Center for Law, Media, and the Arts, where she helped run programs and arts law summer internships from 2000 to 2002. Silvers served as the Director of Legal Services for Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts from 1998 to 1999, overseeing the Law School’s clinic students engaged in direct client work. A graduate of Harvard Law School in 1991, she practiced arts and intellectual property law in New York, collaborating with both private firms and public interest organizations. During her tenure with Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, she spent a year in San Francisco teaching copyright law to graphic arts students. Silvers is passionate about mentorship and seeks to combine her interests in law and creative pursuits.
