Biography

Terri Givens is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of British Columbia. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Stanford University in 1987 and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2000. Givens began her academic career at the University of Washington in Seattle from 1999 to 2003, before joining the University of Texas at Austin where she served as a professor and founded the Center for European Studies. Givens has received several prestigious awards, including a fellowship at the Kolleg-Forschergruppe in Berlin and the Public Policy Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Her current research continues to address critical issues surrounding migration and race within a global context.
