Dr. Terry Fortin

Biography

Terry Ann Fortin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at Duke University, specializing in Cardiology. Dr. Fortin completed a fellowship in Cardiology at Duke University from 2002 to 2006, following her medical residency at the same institution from 1999 to 2002. She earned her M.D. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 1999. Her research focuses on pulmonary hypertension and the development of drug treatments for this serious condition, evidenced by her involvement in multiple awarded grants for clinical studies and registries assessing efficacy and safety of medications like Selexipag and Treprostinil in patients with pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Fortin has been an active contributor to several symposiums and research initiatives, aiming to advance the understanding and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. In her academic role, she also engages in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents in the field of medicine. She is dedicated to improving patient outcomes through innovative research and clinical practice.
