Biography

Terry Kim, MD, is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Duke University Eye Center. He completed his medical degree at Duke University School of Medicine and underwent residency and chief residency in ophthalmology at Emory Eye Center. Following this, he completed fellowship training in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at Wills Eye Hospital. Dr. Kim has been a principal co-investigator on numerous clinical trials and research grants, funded by the National Institutes of Health and industry sponsors. He previously held the position of Director of the Residency Program and currently serves as Chief of the Cornea and External Disease Division, Director of the Refractive Surgery Service, and Director of the Duke Sports Vision Center. His clinical expertise has garnered him recognition, being listed in America's Top Ophthalmologists since 2003, and he has received multiple accolades such as the Achievement Award and Senior Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Kim has published extensively, with over 400 peer-reviewed articles and contributions to various textbooks. He is actively involved in editorial work and serves as a consultant for the FDA and various ophthalmic companies.
