Dr. Tessa Madden

Biography

Tessa Madden, MD, MPH is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at Yale School of Medicine, where she serves as the Section Chief for Family Planning. With a strong background in women's health, she specializes in complex family planning and has a focus on improving patient access to a full range of contraceptive options. Dr. Madden has over 15 years of experience, having previously held a professorship at Washington University in St. Louis. She completed her fellowship in family planning at Johns Hopkins University after earning her MD from Washington University in St. Louis and her MPH from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Madden has a robust research portfolio with more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and has received funding from various institutions including the NIH. She is known for her role as a mentor to medical students and trainees and has served on numerous advisory committees, holding a national reputation as an expert in her field.
