Biography

Thangam Ravindranathan is a Professor of French Francophone Studies at Brown University. His notable works include 'Behold Animal: Four Exorbitant Readings' (Northwestern, January 2020) and 'Donner le change: L'impensé animal' (co-authored with Antoine Traisnel, Éditions Hermann, 2016). His previous publication, 'Là où je ne suis pas: récits de dévoyage,' was released by Presses Universitaires de Vincennes in 2012. Ravindranathan currently works on a book project titled 'Unearthly Literature,' which explores literature's engagement with environmental degradation, particularly through post-war novels that employ critical thought. His teaching and research interests encompass 20th and 21st-century literature, critical theory, narratives of travel and space, the contemporary novel, questions of the animal, and ecocritical literature.
