Biography

Dr. Thanh Nguyen is a Professor of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Radiology at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and serves as the Director of Interventional Neurology/Neuroradiology at Boston Medical Center. He received his medical degree from McGill University Faculty of Medicine in Canada. Following this, he completed a neurology residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Dr. Nguyen pursued a fellowship in vascular neurology and neurocritical care at Massachusetts General Hospital and further specialized in interventional neuroradiology, completing over 1,000 procedures. He has published more than 600 peer-reviewed articles in leading journals such as NEJM, Lancet, and JAMA. As a Principal Investigator, he has led several key studies, including the CLEAR study published in JAMA Neurology. He actively contributes to the Society for Vascular Interventional Neurology (SVIN), serving in various leadership roles and as an Associate Editor for Stroke. Dr. Nguyen has received numerous accolades, including being named a Top Doctor by Boston Magazine and various awards from SVIN, reflecting his significant contributions to neurology and patient care.
