Biography

Themis Kyriakides completed his PhD at Washington State University in 1993 and subsequently pursued a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Washington. He is a professor in the Department of Pathology at Yale School of Medicine, where he also serves as the Director of the Graduate Programs in Pathology. His research encompasses a variety of specialized interests, including the cellular and molecular events at the interface between implanted biomaterials and tissues, biomaterial-induced inflammation, and tissue engineering focusing on angiogenesis and extracellular matrix remodeling. Over the years, he has mentored students from the School of Engineering and Applied Science, contributing significantly to their academic and research pursuits.
