Biography

Theo Assiotis is a Reader at the University of Edinburgh in the School of Mathematics. With a strong background in mathematical physics and probability theory, his research interests particularly focus on stochastic processes, random matrices, and interacting particle systems. He has also explored surface growth models and branching graphs, making important connections with representation theory and special functions as well as integrable systems. Prior to his current position, Assiotis was a postdoc at the University of Oxford from 2019 to 2020 and at the University of Bristol from 2018 to 2019. He completed his PhD at the University of Warwick. Additionally, he holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Cambridge.
