Biography

Theo Pepler is a biostatistician with extensive experience in academia, industry, and government policy-oriented research. Before joining the Robertson Centre Biostatistics in 2024, Theo was a member of the Scottish Government’s Centre of Expertise on Animal Disease Outbreaks (EPIC), where he co-led data management and data science initiatives. His research is focused on informing veterinary public health practices through advanced statistical and epidemiological methodologies applied in real-world contexts. Theo is passionate about statistical computing, free software, and open science, with specific research interests in biostatistics, clinical trials, multivariate statistics (including principal component analysis), bootstrap resampling methods, nonparametric statistics, and simulation modeling.
