Biography

Theocharis (Harry) Kromydas joined the Public Health team in October 2025 to work on a project related to the Scottish Child Payment (SCP) scheme, utilizing causal analysis and natural experiment methods. He has been involved in the Health Economics and Health Technology Assessment (HEHTA) since July 2025. In 2018, he became a Research Associate at the School of Health and Wellbeing (SHW) within the MRC/CSO Social Public Health Sciences Unit, focusing on projects concerning health and wellbeing in relation to labor market status, working conditions, and poverty. He is a member of the Working Group on Rural Education, Employment, and Training (NEETs) as part of the EU-COST Action and is affiliated with the European Rural Youth Observatory (EURYO), a network of researchers and stakeholders dedicated to advancing rural youth issues in Europe. Kromydas began working at the University of Glasgow in October 2014 as a Research Assistant at the Training Employment Research Unit (TERU) and has a strong background as a freelance business consultant. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Strathclyde and has significant experience in quantitative research methods, with interests in health inequalities, child poverty, and social inclusion. His research leverages mixed-methods approaches to deepen the understanding of social phenomena.
